Marva Ollivierre is passionate about the arts and sharing what she knows. She has over 20 years of industry experience, is a Gemini nominated Executive Producer; a management accountant; business affairs consultant; a Floyd Chalmers’ awarded writer; a theatrical mask-maker; the creator of the highly successful cross-Canada lecture series “making your art your business” and was recently Executive Producer and Head of Business Affairs at Inner City Films. While there, she leveraged her inherent creativity with the wealth of her multi-faceted experiences to: successfully direct corporate rebranding, revamp administrative procedures and policies, implement budget controls, orchestrate in-house distribution, and engineer a new marketing/sales strategy that resulted in significant yearly International & US earnings. She also re-focused and nurtured the company’s development slate – two productions have received recognition: “Skin Deep”
, Gemini Winner – Best Lifestyle/Doc, and the Canada/South Africa Co-Production “Jozi H”
, 4 Gemini Nominations including Best Drama Series.
In 2006 Marva started her own independent production house. Beside a busy schedule as CEO of Doe Eye Media Production Inc., Marva continues to lend her support to interesting outside projects, most recently as an Executive Producer/Head of Business Affairs on the 2008 documentary series pilot; “This Can Happen To You”
. She also shares her in-depth knowledge and expertise on the business of making art as a member/volunteer of Women in Film and Television – Toronto (WIFT-T).
